Motivation
Human freedom lies not only in the feeling of comfort or the right to choose but is also determined by the level of opportunity and financial initiative in life. When an individual lacks a mechanism to convert daily efforts into accumulated value, autonomy shrinks over time, even if they are continuously contributing, learning, and interacting. Furthermore, freedom is limited by invisible barriers such as social norms, status, religion, and geographical distance, causing unequal distribution of access to resources and relationship networks.
In modern life, an individual's level of freedom is often expanded or constricted through the quality of social connections they can build and maintain. When relationship networks weaken, access to information, referrals, and support diminishes, leading to a contraction of employment, collaboration, and income opportunities.
However, social isolation is becoming a global issue with serious consequences. This reality not only degrades the quality of life but also narrows opportunities and increases inequality, especially for socio-economically vulnerable groups.
Online platforms emerged with the promise of helping people find each other and build communities, but the prevalent operating model creates a misalignment of goals. When users are not viewed as customers but rather as sources of advertising revenue and data, optimizing time spent on the app is often prioritized over connection quality and the user's substantial benefits.
Achieving freedom requires a new approach: transforming every meaningful social connection and interaction in real life into a recognized contribution, so that freedom becomes the natural result of those connections. Freedom Coin (FC) serves as the unit for recognizing and distributing value for these contributions.
